E-Z - This effect is one of the most pure mentalism effects conceivable with a deck of cards. Your spectator is asked to think of ANY card in the deck, write it down on a piece of paper, and put that piece of paper in their pocket. All of which is done while your back is turned; you can even be in another room! When you return, you remove the cards from the box and place one face down card on the table. Ask the spectator to name the card they are merely thinking of... the spectator turns the card over and it is the thought of card!! Card magic doesn't get any more powerful!
Time zone - Imagine a spectator thinks of a time, a second spectator removes 3 cards from the deck, when the thought of time is named the second spectator reveals her cards... you guessed it, the value of the cards match the thought of time!
Name and Card Routine - This is B. Smiths killer card routine with multiple, impossible climaxes! Imagine not only being able to know the card someone is thinking of, but also know when they THINK 'stop' while dealing through the deck. Three unmarked wooden blocks are displayed and one four inch steel spike. The performer can have his back turned, be blindfolded, or even leave the room while the spectator places the spike into one block (free choice). The spectator is then instructed to cover all the wooden blocks with Styrofoam cups. Don't just melt a spoon - squish the bowl like it were putty. Is it putty? No!
The bowl while seemingly molten instantly becomes solid again and the hands are
seen empty. NOT like anything you have seen before. This is different.
Props are taken from a large Altoid type box, as the performer displays his
unusual abilities. BUT, the box instantly seals itself shut with tape, postage
stamps and more in a split second and in full view. The tape must be removed
before the box can be opened to once again show all the props inside (including
a borrowed item). This is impossible to describe and weird to experience!
A key chain with a light is held over a spectator's hand. The spectator attempts
to light it with her mind. That never happens. But what does happen will
surprise you and your spectator for some time to come.

An Approach to Dr. Jaks' classic "Supersonic" (without the stand).Effect: A spectator is asked to freely shuffle a deck of cards. The mentalist displays a book on divination, explaining that he has been studying Cartomancy-the ancient system of telling fortunes with playing cards.An envelope is then given to the participant to hold and the performer says, "Even though we've never met before, inside this envelope is a Cartomantic reading that I've prepared just for you. Let's see if the system works!"
The top five cards of the shuffled pack are taken and displayed by being inserted into the edge of the book. The spectator is told to choose any of the five cards. The selected card is, for example, the four of clubs. The four unchosen cards are shown to be all different. When the fortune message is removed from the envelope, it reads:
"You have a compassionate nature and strong leadership potential. Your sense of humor is admired by others. Your lucky card is the four of clubs!"
